Intro
Simplify route discovery and navigation compared
to traditional tools. Most navigation services are built around route planning. However, products like Komoot already use an approach where the map becomes the main entry point. UTIS builds on this idea and adapts it to the product.
My Role
The UX evolved through rapid iterations and continuous design reviews. I focused on simplifying user flows and helping the team make key decisions shaping the user experience. For example:
Defined interface behavior for complex filtering scenarios
Guided decision-making between alternative solutions
Refined visual patterns and navigation logic

During navigation, the map remains the primary interface. The next checkpoint is highlighted, and progress is always visible. Checkpoint details open in context, without leaving the navigation mode.
V. Result
Users can share their location with a group while following a route — visible to friends or family in real time. It can be configured from the navigation screen or in the profile.
